    Wonderful lecture! Thank you for offering it. If I could make one suggestion: When lectures are being recorded, perhaps parents can be asked to remove fussing children so the cries and such do not compete with the lecturer.

    But I have read that Zachariah to be the father of John the Baptist, and I think it has thus been held by, for instance, Jeremy Taylor… Could it be that unanimous tradition and Jesus Christ are both correct, and it is in fact the father of the Baptist who was slain? That would avoid – or at least seriously temper – getting too excited about offering alternative readings and theories based on identifying an apparent mismatch here.
