  1. Kirk says:

I think this was a marginal attempt to discusses the fairly new topic of legalization of marijuana. I always like how Mr. Wilson has a 3rd degree of looking at things. Sadly for Mr. Hitchens he drags along the same failed ideals of imprisonment and prohibition of liberty for ones self. Economic and moral reasoning that Mr. Hitchens adheres to can be shot down very easy.

    1. He seeks to legislate and use the state to keep people safe from themselves. In essence he feels that he can legislate mortality and safety onto society by using the rule of law.

    2. Mr. Hitchens has forgot this is a social/moral problem, and a insinuating a prison system will help an individual overcome an addiction is absurd. Especially when you take a moment to notice drugs run rampant in the prison system.

    3. Mr. Hitchens statement about rock bands promoting pot is stereotypical. It is all of Hollywood screaming sex idolatry and blaspheming my kings name. Should we legislate against freedom of speech?

A few question for Mr. Hitchens.

If an individual is aloud to put anything into my mind and heart,(psalms, scripture, joyful music) but for some others it may be ( death metal, communism, secularism, hate) all legal. Why would a person not be aloud to put anything into their body physically they choose?

We are aloud to worship at different churches, temples or not worship at all, we have religious freedom. But why when it comes to an individual freedom and liberty are you so afraid of giving choice?

To sum up how i feel about this interview is hard. I feel it should be redone by the two of you. This time use new arguments that hold water not the same failed ideals that currently are coming down through state nullification. It may also help to study the economics side on how expensive this failed “War on Drugs” has proven to be. Maybe looking at the expantion of the police state in conjunction with the War on Drugs. Maybe look at some of the initial propaganda use to outlaw cannabis in the US. Maybe realize that if we all had a respect for individual liberty we wouldn’t be wasting our time now talk about a subject that would be solve.

  2. Peter Reynolds says:

So now poor Peter Hitchens is the victiom of a dreadful conspiracy by the wicked cannabis camapigners to prevent his book being reviewed! It is truly pitiful!

Hitchens is a malevolent preacher of bad science, misinformation and falsehood. Cannabis is good for human and animal health when used in moderation. It supplements the endocannabinoid system and helps to protect against Alzheimer’s and cancer.

Biblical scholars now claim that kaneh bosum, the annointing oil used by Christ to heal, contained cannabis. This makes perfect sense given what we now understand about its extraordinary healing properties.

The gross distortion by both Hitchens and Wilson about the persistence of cannabinoids in the body is a fraud. Alcohol is a poison which the body excretes rapidly. Cannabinoids are compatible with the body’s natural chemistry and persist and nourish us.

It is a scandal that our government, our judges, our courts, our police and our newspapers keep misleading us about cannabis. Find out the truth for yourself. A huge disinformation campaign funded mainly by the alcohol industry has been misleading the British people for more than 50 years

  4. Karl says:

Well that was a big bunch of rubbish, filled with misconceptions and didn’t touch on any key points of cannabis discussion.
